If one car defines chauffeur travel, it is the S-Class — and it earns the reputation from the rear seat, not the driver's.

Mercedes builds the S-Class around the person sitting behind the driver. The rear compartment reclines, the seats are heated, ventilated and massaging, and the double-glazed cabin removes most of the road from the experience entirely. On a long journey the difference is not subtle: you step out of an S-Class after four hours feeling markedly better than you would after four hours anywhere else.
It is our default recommendation for airport travel with one or two passengers, for full-day business use, and for any long-distance journey where the point is to keep working — or to stop working — without interruption.
The long-wheelbase specification adds a further stretch of rear legroom and is worth requesting for journeys over two hours. Say the word when you enquire and we will confirm what is available for your date.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs
Why Clients Choose the Mercedes-Benz S-Class
01
Recognised on arrival
Security teams, hotel doormen and private terminal staff know this shape. Being expected rather than questioned smooths the last two minutes of any journey.
02
Built around the rear
Almost every decision Stuttgart made here favours the passenger behind the driver, which is precisely the opposite of how most fine cars are engineered.
03
The neutral choice
It signals seriousness without extravagance. Boards, embassies and law firms book it because nobody has ever had to justify an S-Class to a committee.
04
Long days, unaffected
A twelve-hour hire in this Mercedes chauffeur car costs you nothing in comfort. The car that collects you at dawn still feels composed at midnight.
Choosing This Car
When the flagship earns its place
The real decision sits between this car and the Maybach above it. The S-Class is the point at which a luxury saloon stops improving in ways you notice constantly and starts improving in ways you notice at the end of a journey. For anything up to two hours, the Maybach's extra length is a pleasure rather than a necessity, and we will say so. Beyond that, or when a passenger genuinely intends to sleep, the longer car changes the arithmetic.
Read the stated luggage capacity as a shape rather than a number. The boot aperture is wide but shallow, because this is a flagship saloon and not an estate, so the constraint is usually case height rather than floor area. Two large cases and three cabin bags is genuinely accurate, and a fortnight in the sun for two people fits. Two people with skis, a folded travel cot or a large instrument does not. For those, an MPV or an SUV is the better and often cheaper answer.
In practice, the length that gives you rear legroom also gives your chauffeur something to manage. Long-wheelbase examples need a longer kerb space and a wider turning circle, which occasionally means stopping a few metres from a narrow Georgian doorway rather than directly outside it. The sill is low, so passengers with restricted mobility drop into the seat rather than step across, and a hand from your chauffeur on the way out is offered as standard, not on request.

03
The car is held
On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.
04
Your chauffeur arrives
Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

The reference point for chauffeur travel

Corporate & Business
Corporate and executive travel
This is the default corporate chauffeur car in Britain for a reason. It carries the right amount of authority for a client-facing arrival while remaining unremarkable enough for a discreet one, and it is the vehicle most travel policies already name. Where a company books repeatedly, we hold preferences on file: seat position, cabin temperature, whether conversation is welcome, which entrance a particular building actually uses.
For roadshows and multi-city days it is the natural lead car, with the working furniture to match. Rear tables and reliable power turn an hour between appointments into a genuine hour of preparation, and the insulation means a confidential call can continue while the car moves through Holborn traffic. Where several vehicles run together, one coordinator holds every timing and every chauffeur takes instructions from the same schedule.
Who We Drive
Who Books the Mercedes-Benz S-Class
Senior executives
Chief executives and board members whose diaries are built in fifteen-minute blocks, and for whom the car is the only reliable thinking time all day.
Legal and financial teams
Deal teams travelling between counsel, client and closing, needing a cabin quiet enough that a call can continue without anyone asking where you are.
Diplomatic and government
Delegations and visiting officials who require protocol-appropriate presentation, discreet chauffeurs and a vehicle that fits an established arrival procedure without needing to be explained at the gate.
Long-distance private clients
Individuals crossing the country by road rather than rail, who would rather work, sleep or read than negotiate three hundred motorway miles themselves.
Events & Occasions
Milestones and formal evenings
For black tie, opera, awards dinners and significant anniversaries, this luxury chauffeur service strikes a balance many clients prefer to a more theatrical motor car. It is handsome at the foot of a staircase without turning the arrival into a performance, and there is space to travel in a dinner jacket or a long gown without arriving creased.
It also does the unglamorous work of a big day well. On wedding mornings it moves the immediate family in comfort while the ceremonial car handles the couple, and it is frequently the vehicle that takes a newly married pair to the airport the following day. For funerals, a car of this presentation is quiet, formal and appropriate without ever being conspicuous.

Timing & Availability
Lead times and busy dates
Standard-wheelbase availability is generally good, and a few days of notice is usually enough outside peak periods. Long-wheelbase examples are a smaller pool everywhere in the country, so if the additional legroom matters to you, tell us at the enquiry stage rather than at confirmation, and allow a week or more where the date is fixed.
The dates that disappear first are predictable: London Fashion Week, the major conference weeks, Wimbledon fortnight, and the run of December evenings when every firm in the City holds its party on the same three nights. Model, colour and specification always remain subject to availability and written booking confirmation, since we draw on our own cars and a vetted network of professional operators.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
The Standard We Hold
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Vetted professional chauffeurs
Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.
Discretion by default
Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.
Immaculate vehicles
Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.
One point of contact
The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.

Where We Travel
Nationwide Chauffeur Service
London is where most of our work begins, but a chauffeur can be arranged to and from any address in the United Kingdom.
