A single terminal serves the whole airport, set on the old Royal Docks between Canning Town and Woolwich, and the building can be crossed in a couple of minutes. That compactness is the entire appeal. The approach runs off the A13 and Silvertown Way, close enough to Canary Wharf that a car can be at the door within minutes of you telling us the wheels have touched down.
Because the terminal is small, meeting here is genuinely simple. Your chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, a few steps from where you emerge, and takes the bags from there. There is no long march to a remote car park at the far end of a bus route. Share your flight number and we plan around the published arrival time, allowing for the short queues the airport is rightly known for.
Departures need less lead time than anywhere else in London, but the road in can still catch you out. The Limehouse Link and the Blackwall approaches are unforgiving at rush hour, and an accident in either closes the obvious route entirely. We choose a collection time based on where you are actually staying rather than a fixed rule, and your chauffeur is outside before it rather than at it.

Everything happens in one building here, and the arrivals area is small enough that a name board is visible the moment you come through. Bags tend to appear quickly, so from wheels down to the kerb often takes only a matter of minutes on a European flight. That speed is the reason to use the airport, and it is also why we ask for the flight number: the margin for a late car is very thin.
Road access comes in from the A13 by way of Connaught Road, with Silvertown Way and the Lower Lea Crossing feeding it from the west. The pinch points are the river crossings and the Limehouse Link, both of which suffer at rush hour and both of which can close entirely after an incident, leaving no obvious alternative. User charges apply at the Blackwall and Silvertown crossings and are included in what we quote.
Set-down sits directly outside the terminal, a short walk from check-in, and a charge applies at the forecourt. Because the airport keeps shorter operating hours than the other London airports, schedules bunch into early mornings and early evenings; a first departure typically means a collection while the City is still empty, which is the easiest driving of the week. We choose that time from your address rather than from a standard allowance.
