Turf Moor sits in the town rather than on its edge, a few minutes from the centre, and a home fixture puts real pressure on Yorkshire Street, Belvedere Road and the Centenary Way approaches for an hour and a half either side of kick-off. Evening matches overlap with the commute and are the harder of the two to plan. Bank holiday weekends, the weeks either side of Christmas, the summer wedding season and the university terms that begin and end together all fill quickly, and the further from London a journey runs, the earlier a car should be committed to it. Midweek travel in the shoulder months is the easiest thing in the world to arrange.
