Junction five is where the M25 and the M26 divide, and it is one of the least forgiving interchanges in the South East. Clockwise traffic queues towards it through the morning and the slip roads back up onto the A21 southbound, which then affects the Riverhead and Dunton Green roundabouts. When the junction is closed the diversion through Otford and the A25 is narrow and slow, so we would rather take the A21 south and cross at Tonbridge.
