Private Tours
Stratford is a small Warwickshire market town that happens to hold the beginning and the end of the most examined life in English literature.
Quoted individually. Share the outline and we reply with a written price — no rate card, no obligation.
Stratford is two hours from London and small enough to walk in an afternoon, which is precisely why the properties scattered around it make the case for a car. The Birthplace on Henley Street and the town centre are on foot. Anne Hathaway's Cottage at Shottery and Mary Arden's Farm at Wilmcote are a mile and three miles out respectively, and reaching them without your own transport eats the day.
The town itself is genuinely handsome. Timber-framed frontages, a broad river with swans and rowing boats, and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre sitting low on the bank. Holy Trinity Church, ten minutes downstream along a lime avenue, is where Shakespeare was baptised and buried, and the grave is set into the chancel floor beneath its own inscription. It is a quieter and more affecting stop than the birthplace, and less crowded.
If you can, build the day around an evening performance. The RSC's main house and the Swan are a few steps from the water, and being collected afterwards by your own car — rather than walking to a car park in the dark or waiting for a train — turns a long day into an easy one. Your chauffeur can hold coats and bags through the interval and be at the door as you come out.
As with all our touring days, we provide the car and the chauffeur. Your chauffeur is a professional driver, not a licensed guide, and offers no commentary. Property admission and theatre tickets are arranged by you, and we will happily advise on how the properties space out across a day. A qualified guide can travel with you if you would like the works and the places properly connected.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs
01
Shottery and Wilmcote are a mile and three miles out. With a car they are twenty minutes of your day; without one they are most of an afternoon.
02
An evening performance ends late and the car is at the theatre door. No walk to a car park in the dark, no last train, no compromise on dinner.
03
Charlecote's deer park and the Warwickshire lanes are ten minutes away, and they give the plays a landscape rather than leaving them as a street of gift shops.
04
The chauffeur is a professional driver and not a licensed guide. Property and theatre tickets are yours to book; we advise on spacing and can arrange a qualified guide.
At a Glance
Shottery and Wilmcote are the properties most day trips miss, and the car makes them easy.
A lime avenue by the river, and the grave in the chancel floor. Quieter than the birthplace.
Build the day around a performance and be collected at the theatre door afterwards.
Local Knowledge
Five Shakespeare properties exist and almost nobody should attempt all five. Three is a good day: the Birthplace, Holy Trinity and one of the outlying houses. Each takes forty-five minutes to an hour, with driving between them measured in single figures. Add lunch, an hour walking the riverside, and you have filled the daylight. If a performance is on the end, keep the afternoon deliberately light.
Property admission is arranged by you, and the houses in the town run on timed entry that fills fastest in the middle of the day. Send us the slots and we will order the route around them rather than guessing. Theatre performances are the immovable point: a matinee ends mid-afternoon and an evening show finishes late. Stratford's central car parks are small and often full, so set-down and collection are arranged at agreed points instead.
Within the town the walking is flat and short — Henley Street to Holy Trinity is under a mile along the river — but the historic houses have narrow stairs, low beams and uneven floors, and the farm at Wilmcote is a working yard in all weathers. Rain moves the day indoors easily enough. Your chauffeur does not narrate the properties; a qualified guide can be arranged to connect the plays to the places.

Four Steps
Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.
01
Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.
02
You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.
03
On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.
04
Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

Corporate & Business
A theatre evening is a considerably better corporate gesture than another restaurant, and Stratford is the one place in England where it comes with this much history attached. Cars collect clients from a Midlands office or hotel in the late afternoon, wait through the performance, and return them afterwards. The chauffeur holds coats and bags in the interval and is at the door as the audience comes out.
Delegations and incentive parties usually take the town in the afternoon and the theatre at night, which needs several vehicles moving as one. Partner programmes running beside a Birmingham or Coventry conference make the trip out and back inside a working day. Tickets for both the properties and the performance are secured by you; we build the timings around them and will bring in a qualified guide if wanted.
Who We Drive
Visitors who have taught the plays, acted in them or simply loved them, and who want the birthplace, the grave and a performance in one continuous day.
Households for whom Mary Arden's working farm at Wilmcote is the part that lands, and who need the car for the three miles that separate it from the town.
Two travellers who want an early supper by the river, a play at the Swan and somebody else entirely responsible for the two hours home.
People who did Henley Street years ago and now want Holy Trinity in the quiet, Hall's Croft, and the lime avenue along the water at dusk.
Events & Occasions
People come here to mark things quietly. A retirement after a career of teaching the plays, a birthday spent finally seeing the grave, a couple returning on the anniversary of the performance where they met. The car allows the day to be as slow and as sentimental as it needs to be, and to end with dinner rather than with a timetable.
Warwickshire also draws families researching their own lines through the parish registers of the surrounding villages, which are scattered and poorly served by anything on rails. Send the list and we will build a route that takes in two or three churches alongside the literary stops. For first-time visitors, the birthplace and a play in the same day is about as English as a day gets.

Airports
Met in arrivals with a name board, luggage carried, and departures planned around your check-in.
Popular Journeys
Quoted door to door as a single movement, including the return leg and any waiting in between.
Timing & Availability
The theatre season and the visitor season do not quite align. Summer fills the town and the river; spring and autumn give you the properties in relative calm with a full programme still running. Winter is quiet, and a cold evening walk along the Avon to a lit theatre is one of the better things the country offers. Daylight in December runs out around four.
Book the performance first, because the good seats go months ahead and everything else in the day is negotiable around them. Once you have the date, three weeks of notice to us is usually sufficient, though a Saturday with a popular production runs tighter. Tell us the curtain time and whether you want dinner before or after, and the whole schedule falls out of that.
Professional Chauffeur Standards
What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.
Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.
Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.
Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.
The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.

Where We Travel
London is where most of our work begins, but a chauffeur can be arranged to and from any address in the United Kingdom.
The shape of the day
Suggested only — the route is yours to change on the day. Your chauffeur is a professional driver, not a licensed tour guide, and admission tickets are arranged by you. A qualified guide can travel with you on request.
