Paddington is built around its station, with Praed Street and Eastbourne Terrace either side, the hospital opposite and the hotels of Sussex Gardens, Craven Road and Norfolk Square filling the streets around. North of the tracks, Paddington Basin and Merchant Square hold offices and waterside restaurants, and Little Venice sits where the canals meet a few minutes further on. Our passengers are travellers, business visitors and people arriving off the Elizabeth line who would rather not continue by tube.

The station's set-down arrangements are tight and the taxi rank is not available to private cars, so we meet on Eastbourne Terrace, London Street or in the streets behind Praed Street depending on which entrance suits. Bishop's Bridge Road and the Westway approaches are fast and impossible to stop on. Sussex Gardens has bays, though they fill early. Paddington sits just outside the congestion charge zone, the boundary running along the Edgware Road a few hundred metres east.

Most of what we do here is connected to arriving and leaving. Meeting a family off a train with luggage and taking them on to a rented house; collecting from one of the hotels for an early flight; a business visitor moving between Merchant Square and a meeting in the City. Locally, Little Venice and the canalside restaurants generate evening work, and the hospital on Praed Street brings a steady flow of appointment journeys.

The Westway is on the doorstep, which makes this one of the quicker central postcodes for heading west. Heathrow is typically 35 to 60 minutes, and the M40 for Oxford, Bicester and the Cotswolds is reached within minutes. Luton runs 45 to 80 minutes. Gatwick is the difficult one at 65 to 105 minutes across town. St Pancras for the Eurostar is ten to twenty minutes east along the Marylebone Road.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs

Why Clients Choose Us for Paddington

  • 01

    Kerbside knowledge

Every street around the station has its own rules about stopping, and we use the ones that work rather than the one that looks closest on a map.

  • 02

    Trains met properly

Tell us the service and your chauffeur is in place before it arrives, on the concourse if you prefer, so nobody stands about with luggage.

  • 03

    Hotel doors covered

The hotels here range from grand forecourts to narrow Georgian frontages, and we approach each one the way its own door staff would want.

  • 04

    West without the centre

The Westway lifts you out of London without crossing the West End, which is why departures from W2 rarely feel like leaving a city.

At a Glance

Paddington

  • Station meets that work

Eastbourne Terrace or London Street rather than a rank a private car is not permitted to use.

  • Straight on to the Westway

Heathrow and the M40 are reached without touching the West End or the charge zone.

  • Luggage-ready cars

Trains arrive with real suitcases, so we send a vehicle sized for them rather than a compromise.

Local Knowledge

Where a car can stand

The streets immediately around the station each behave differently. London Street and Spring Street give reasonable access to the Praed Street side; Conduit Place and Norfolk Place are useful when the hospital traffic builds. Westbourne Terrace, running north-west from the station, is broad and comparatively calm, and it is often where a car waits between a confirmed arrival and a call to come forward. Bishop's Bridge Road is quick and unstoppable in both senses.

North of the tracks the character changes completely. Paddington Basin and Merchant Square are pedestrianised around the water, so we meet at the road edge rather than beside the canal itself. Little Venice, a few minutes further along, is genuinely residential: Blomfield Road and the streets around Warwick Avenue are narrow, permit-heavy and much easier at the weekend than on a weekday morning. The Harrow Road end connects straight to the Westway.

The area runs to the railway timetable. Early mornings are dominated by airport-bound trains and departures from the hotels, and the roads are quick. The middle of the day belongs to the hospital and the offices; the evening brings arrivals in waves as the long-distance services come in. Sussex Gardens fills its bays early and the Edgware Road end slows whenever the flyover does, so we allow for both rather than hoping.

Four Steps

How Booking Works

Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.

  1. 01

    Tell us the journey

Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.

  2. 02

    We quote in writing

You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.

  3. 03

    The car is held

On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.

  4. 04

    Your chauffeur arrives

Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

Business chauffeur travel — Paddington

Corporate & Business

Meetings and connections

Paddington's business travel is mostly about joining things up. An arrival from the west, a meeting in the City, a return service to catch, and a gap in the middle that is either a nuisance or an opportunity depending on whether a car is waiting. Booking by the hour covers the whole shape of it and keeps the luggage out of a left luggage office.

For teams arriving together we run several vehicles to one schedule with a single coordinator, which is far simpler than a dozen individual bookings and a scramble on the concourse. Vehicles come from our own cars and a vetted network of professional chauffeur operators, so a group of six landing at once is a matter of planning rather than luck.

Who We Drive

Who Travels with Us for Paddington

  • Rail arrivals

Passengers off the Elizabeth line or a west country service who have one more journey to make and no wish at all to make it underground.

  • Hotel guests

Visitors staying around Sussex Gardens and Norfolk Square who want the same car and the same chauffeur for every movement of a short trip.

  • Basin businesses

People working between Merchant Square and Sheldon Square, whose meetings sit in the City and whose mornings begin at the water's edge.

  • Medical visitors

Patients and families attending appointments on Praed Street, who need an unhurried departure and a chauffeur who does not rush anybody along.

Events & Occasions

Arrivals, hotels and evenings

A great many occasions in W2 begin at a platform. A family gathering for a wedding elsewhere in the country, guests arriving for a christening, a group travelling on together after a train from the west. Meeting them properly, with help for the cases and one car rather than three taxis, sets the tone for everything that follows and removes the least enjoyable half hour of the day.

Locally, the canalside restaurants around the Basin and the terraces of Little Venice make an easy evening, and the West End is a short run east when you want a theatre. For a night out we would generally hold the car rather than book two transfers: an interval that runs long or a table that lingers stops being a problem the moment the return is already arranged.

Timing & Availability

Booking around the timetable

Train times give us something firm to plan against, which is a luxury. Give us the service and we will have the car in place beforehand, with a sensible allowance for the walk from the platform. For flights, a flight number lets us plan around the published schedule and set the collection accordingly, and we will always suggest the earlier of two possible departures.

The busiest periods here are the Friday evening exodus, the mornings after major sporting weekends and the days either side of a public holiday, when the hotels empty at the same hour. Those commit first. Midweek and daytime work is usually available at short notice, and a message with the date and an outline of the journey is enough to begin with.

Professional Chauffeur Standards

The Standard We Hold

What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.

  • Vetted professional chauffeurs

Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.

  • Discretion by default

Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.

  • Immaculate vehicles

Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.

  • One point of contact

The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.
