The British Grand Prix occupies a full weekend in early July on the Northamptonshire border, with practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race itself on Sunday afternoon. It draws one of the biggest crowds of any sporting event in the country, spread across grandstands, general admission banking and hospitality suites, most of it outdoors and most of it a long walk from wherever you left the car.

That walk is the point. Circuit parking is largely on grass, allocated by colour, and can sit a mile or more from your gate, which is hard going in rain and harder still on the way back.
