A small city at the mouth of the Great Glen, Inverness has a castle above the river, a compact centre and a role out of all proportion to its size as the administrative and commercial capital of the north. Loch Ness begins a few miles south west, the Moray Firth coast runs east towards Nairn, and the roads to Skye, Ullapool and the far north all start here. Guests arrive for touring, for whisky, for fishing and shooting, and for estate weekends.

Summer brings a great deal of camper van traffic through the city, most of it setting out on the north coast route, and the roads west and north carry more of it than they were built for. Single-track sections with passing places are normal beyond a certain point, and courtesy there costs minutes that add up across a day. Winter is the other constraint: the A9 south and the A82 down the Great Glen both take snow, and both matter because there is little else.

Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle are around half an hour along the A82, Culloden fifteen to twenty minutes east, and the Speyside distilleries an hour or so on the A95. Ullapool takes roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half, Skye somewhere between two and a half and three hours, and Aviemore about forty minutes south. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both long days at three and a half hours or more.

Local Knowledge

Where Highland mileage misleads

The single most useful thing to understand about travelling from Inverness is that average speeds fall away sharply once you leave the trunk roads. The A9 and A96 move well, but the A832, A835 and the roads out to the west coast are single carriageway, frequently single track with passing places, and shared with caravans, livestock and delivery lorries. A hundred miles on a Highland map is a three-hour drive rather than ninety minutes, and an itinerary written from mileage alone tends to unravel by mid-afternoon.

Winter narrows the choices further. The A9 south over Drumochter and the A82 along Loch Ness towards Fort William are the two arteries, and when snow closes either there is no quick way round. Average speed enforcement covers much of the A9 and the dualling programme moves contraflows about, so the honest planning figure to Edinburgh is three and a half hours or more rather than the three that a clear summer run might produce. We would rather set out early than arrive apologising.

Why Luxury Chauffeurs

Why Choose Us in Inverness

  • 01

    One movement, one car

Luggage is loaded once and the same vehicle stays with you from a London doorstep to a village hotel at the far end of the country.

  • 02

    The last mile

The part of a journey that ends down a lane, on gravel or at a gatehouse is exactly the part public transport cannot manage at all.

  • 03

    Quoted door to door

Regional journeys are priced as a whole, including the return leg and any waiting, so there is nothing left to work out at the far end.

  • 04

    Local detail throughout

Every place has its own page covering what a chauffeur actually does there, honest road timings, and where a car can wait once you arrive.

Luxury Vehicles

Choose Your Chauffeur Driven Car

From an executive saloon to a Rolls-Royce. Model, colour and specification are subject to availability and booking confirmation.

Four Steps

How Booking Works

Chauffeur booking with us is a conversation rather than a checkout. Every journey is priced individually.

  1. 01

    Tell us the journey

Send the date, the addresses and the shape of the day on WhatsApp, or use the journey planner. There is no obligation and no card details are taken to get a price.

  2. 02

    We quote in writing

You receive a written quotation covering the vehicle, the timings and everything included — no estimates that move later, and no surge pricing.

  3. 03

    The car is held

On confirmation a vehicle and a named professional chauffeur are assigned to your date, and the terms are put in writing.

  4. 04

    Your chauffeur arrives

Briefed on the route, the access and the waiting arrangements before the day, so nothing is decided at the kerb.

Corporate & Business

Regional and Multi-City Work

Business travel outside London is where the road wins most clearly. A site in an industrial park, a client on a business park off a motorway junction, two offices in different cities on the same day: none of those sit near a station, and all of them are straightforward by car. The drive between them becomes preparation time rather than an interval spent waiting for a connection.

Nationwide chauffeur work is also easier to control administratively. One booking, one written quotation and one chauffeur across a two-day itinerary replaces a tangle of tickets, transfers and receipts. Where a team travels together the conversation continues in the car, which is often the most productive hour of the trip and the one nobody thought to plan. Accounts can be arranged for regular regional travel.

Who We Drive

Who Travels with Us

  • Weekend travellers

Couples heading for a spa town, a country house or a coastal hotel who would much rather begin the break at their own front door.

  • Regional business

Directors visiting offices, sites and plants in cities where a hire car and an unfamiliar ring road would waste most of the morning.

  • Family occasions

Christenings, graduations and anniversaries in the part of the country everyone left, reached without three changes and a rural taxi at the end.

  • Overseas guests

Visitors who want to see Britain properly rather than the inside of terminals, and who value a single arrangement across several counties.

Events & Occasions

Escapes, Weddings and Visits

The country wedding is the journey that most repays a chauffeur. Venues sit at the end of lanes, parking is a field, the reception runs late and the drive home is the last thing anybody wants to think about at midnight. Booked properly, the car is waiting exactly where it was agreed, and the only decision left is who is falling asleep first.

Leisure travel benefits differently. A weekend in a spa town, a college city or a stretch of coastline turns into something better when the route is yours: a detour to a church someone read about, a long lunch that nobody has to leave for a train, an afternoon extended because the weather turned generous. The car simply waits, and the day keeps its own shape.

Airport chauffeur transfers from Inverness

Airport Transfers

Inverness to Edinburgh Airport

Typically 3 hours 15 minutes to 4 hours on the A9, with considerably more in winter

Your chauffeur waits inside the terminal with a name board and helps with luggage to the car. Share a flight number and we plan the pickup around the published schedule and typical clearance times. For departures we work backwards from the check-in you want to make, allowing for the road and the hour of day.

Timing & Availability

Seasons, Daylight and Weather

Britain's weather does more to a long journey than its traffic does. Winter afternoons close in early, which matters when the last leg is a single-track road, and Highland and moorland routes can take substantially longer than a summer estimate suggests. We build that into the timings rather than discovering it together, and where a departure hour makes a schedule uncomfortable we will suggest a better one.

Demand follows the calendar. Bank holiday weekends, the weeks either side of Christmas, the summer wedding season and the university terms that begin and end together all fill quickly, and the further from London a journey runs, the earlier a car should be committed to it. Midweek travel in the shoulder months is the easiest thing in the world to arrange.

Professional Chauffeur Standards

The Standard We Hold

What a premium chauffeur service should mean in practice, rather than in a brochure.

  • Vetted professional chauffeurs

Every chauffeur is licensed, insured and vetted before they drive for us. They are briefed on your journey in advance and dressed for the occasion.

  • Discretion by default

Vehicles carry no branding. Your chauffeur speaks when spoken to, and what is discussed in the back of the car stays there.

  • Immaculate vehicles

Current-generation cars, valeted before every journey, with still water and charging in the rear compartment.

  • One point of contact

The same person handles your enquiry, your quotation and your booking, so nothing is explained twice.
