Rutland Water, Burghley and Stamford make a genuinely pretty day out for guests who would rather see stone villages than another city, with a long lunch somewhere in front of a fire.

East Midlands Airport is around twenty-five to thirty-five minutes by the A453 and is the practical choice for most guests, with Birmingham an hour or so away for wider connections. From London the M1 makes the journey straightforward at typically two and a half to three and a half hours, and trains from St Pancras take a little under two, which many guests prefer with a car waiting.
